Today is for teachers. Those around me everyday who work their tails off for “their summers off”, those who will be working all weekend grading papers, planning amazing lessons and thinking about their students. Also to those specific teachers who changed my life, Julie Caccamise and Rebecca Grant Dason. Ms. Caccamise, for her honesty while I was in high school and her bravery to be herself in the face of adversity – you are an amazing teacher and thank you. Ms. Dason, my high school art teacher, who LITERALLY saved my life by showing me the power of art and the ability to express all the “stuff” in my head in a very safe way.
